British Airways: 1 mile flown = 1/4 mile in account

If you flew with British Airways recently, it will be a great idea to check your account to see how many miles you really flew according to the British giant. See, if you did not fly with a full-fare ticket, and people RARELY do, you will get exactly one quarter of the miles you actually flew. You see, to get BA miles you pay FULL fare. If you are even considering flying BA and collecting miles with this evil carrier, note that their miles are good for well, BA flights. Using BA miles is unbelievably difficult because each flight has about 1/4 of a seat available to frequent fliers. And unlike American carriers (read airlines in the 21st century) who have common courtesy to their passengers and offer alternative ways to use the miles, such as hotel stays and car rentals, BA does not offer anything. So you have a zillion miles, and you can pretty much shove them.
